The Institute considers applications for Visiting Fellowships from academics of postdoctoral status interested in conducting research in Oxford in the fields of European and/or comparative law. Although no stipend or administrative support can be offered, Visiting Fellows are provided with a workspace (usually a desk in a shared office in the Institute), use of a computer and access to the Bodleian Law Library which is located in the same building as the Institute. They are also entitled to attend any seminars and lectures organised by the Institute, the Law Faculty or the University. Visiting Fellows may be invited to present a seminar or take part in a discussion group on their research during their stay in Oxford. Short reports of previous Visiting Fellows and their research undertaken at the Institute can be found in the Institute’s recent Annual Reports which are available online.
Applications are considered by the Institute’s Committee
of Management which meets once a term, usually in October, February
and May. Applicants should complete the application form and send
or email it to the Institute’s Administrator (address below)
along with a curriculum vitae, list of publications, statement
of proposed research, two references and an indication of possible
dates. Informal enquiries should also be addressed to the Administrator
in the first instance.
